The production and processing of silk represent
a chapter of Italian history and manufacturing tradition that we are proud to hand down to future generations. Over time, we have joined to continuous silk filament with the production of discontinuous silk yarn, taking new steps along the route that combines tradition and modernity. Today, Ongetta company is recognized as a market leader and has become the point of reference for the most exclusive European weaving mills that turn to Haute Couture to best express products related to the luxury market.
A Step
towards the Future
For us, the theme of sustainability is increasingly important and takes on many forms, first and foremost the desire to give the right value to a yarn that originates from the recovery of waste fibers from the reeling mill. From these recovered fibers (Kibiso) begins a process of degumming, preparation, and combing, which results in what we call the “regenerated life of silk”: spun silk yarns with different characteristics in terms of count and brightness.
